If i go to work for a Home Depot or a Walmart, companies that push volunteer involvement, would that give you an advantage such as more hours, a promotion? Do volunteer employess get paid to work as volunteers?

i dont think volunteers get paid ever but you would probably get a store dicount like 5% or something. if you really want to know, you should ask a spokesperson, but usually all you get is a small dicount as a volunteer

If you have Wal Mart or Home Depot in mind as a career, then volunteering for a brief time could help you make contacts. I would quickly apply for part-time employment after breaking the ice, however.
