Lowes or Home Depot? Lowes recently came to Town is it worth checking out?

My local hardware chain sold out to Home Depot last year. I miss getting help from knoweldgable people you want to help you find things. I now know my way around the Home Depot and think there prices are fine so I am wondering if the service is better at Lowes or if there is another reason to go out of my way to shop there.

The stores are comparable. I usually shop at Lowe’s simply because it is closer. Exception: if I am buying wire, I do Home Depot; Lowe’s doesn’t know how to sell the stuff.

Although they both overlap each other, Home Depot is a little more contractor oriented. Lowe’s leans a little more towards DIY type service.
just go and check them out and decide which you like the best. Personally I go to both, depends on what I feel like at any given time. They are both with in a couple of blocks of each other. I think they plan it that way.

In our city, Lowe’s was the only hardware chain, and acted like it. You couldn’t get waited on. Then along came Home Depot a few blocks away, and they were really good about customer service. Shortly, Lowe’s changed their ways, and Home Depot customer service went downhill as corporate leadership changed and associates were thinnned out so that now there are very few sales people to wait on anybody, and Lowe’s keeps getting better. I am sure it is different in other cities. I usually go to Lowe’s, even tho my husband works at Home Depot.

Low es is better for the most part.

Home Depot service is not very good any more.

Lowes has the best close out sales since they like to keep their store really clean.

If you shop at the end of the season you can get extremely good deals on close out building supplies.

I picked up windows and storm doors for $ 5.00 at Lowes b4.

They are pretty much the same. I find that Lowe’s runs more sales than Home Depot does. The one thing that gets on my nerves about Lowe’s is you HAVE to check yourself out at the cash register. Whenever I go in there I am usually spending a great deal of money and then to have to check my ownself out without any type of service really chaps my hide.

      Good luck!

I am a conservative and can not stand what Home Depot stands for. Shop Lowes. and vote Mccain.
