Sunglasses Worn For Snow Sports

December 4th, 2008 | by admin |

My son likes to snow ski and my daughter-in-law likes to snowboard. I myself have never done either. It looks like fun, but I just never had the opportunity. You would not want to wear haber sunglasses in either one of these sports. They would not provide enough protection from the wind or the sun. One piece of essential equipment in winter sports are the goggles. The ultraviolet rays from the sun, UV rays, cause increased risk for cataracts and macular degeneration. The UV light rays can also cause snow blindness. Another result of UV exposure is possible damage to the cornea and retina.
So you see, it is imperative that you wear some type of sun protection for your eyes when participating in snow sports.
