if i did not have relative contractors like i do then YES, i would hire a little mexican from outside of home depot… they are hard workers although their fees are increasing..

chances are NO, if you go to a home depot or lowes or anyother homeimprovement store, chances are they could only tell you where parts and such are, they would NOT be able to install them. I know this because my boyfriend is a contractor and he goes to lowes all the time, he would ask someone where this part or that part is and they could show him, but when he would ask if he could install this over this and then do this, if that would work, the worker is dumbfounded and don’t have a clue.

Not to say that “all” empoylees of these stores would know how, but the majaroity don’t have a clue.

Nope. I am not in the habit of allowing unlicensed, unbonded and insured people into my home to do anything.

Maybe you will end up with a Richard Rameriz, Ted Bundy, or Jeffrey Darmer…Don’t ask them if they want to have “Dinner On You”!

If i saw him or her and they seemed to be legitimate i would approach them and ask for an estimate. I would check for up to date licensing, insurance and depending on the project amount in your state bonding information. If they then panned out to be legal i would then check for references and contact them.

If they were of the illegal type person, mexican that can’t produce Green card identification for all employees, i would hire them and send them straight to the local I.N.S. department to meet some freinds of mine.

No way Jose. Good way to set yourself up for all sorts of problems. Most are illegals. Many are criminals looking for easy crimes to commit later.
